Ask any newlywed couple — even couples that have been married for a long time — and they’ll all say the same thing : The key to a successful wedding is in the planning. These simple tips will help you take some of the stress away (or at least minimize it!).

  1. LOSE THE LAZINESS
Don’t try to cram all of the planning into a too-short period of time. Of course you should just sit back and be thrilled about your engagement for a while, but then you’ve to get cracking!
  2. BUY A CALENDAR OR DATEBOOK
Once you determine your wedding date, set specific dates by which you want to get things accomplished. Try to get as much done as possible in the first few months so that the last few months won’t be hectic.
  3. SET ASIDE TIME TO WORK ON WEDDING DETAILS
Sit down together and plan. This eliminates confusion — i.e., the groom thinking he’s supposed to call and check on hall rentals when the bride already has it narrowed down to what will suit their needs.
  4. SHARE DUTIES
Make a list of details to be taken care of, and then divide the list in half. Each of you choose what you want to do. This will make grooms want to be involved, instead of making them feel like they have to help. Which brings us to…
  5. TALK, TALK, TALK
Be sure that if you’re sharing duties that you’re also sharing the details. It’s okay to take care of certain things by yourself, just make sure you’re telling each other about it so the caterer isn’t contacted twice!
  6. BE FLEXIBLE
Each of you is going to want things that the other doesn’t care for, but flexibility is a must. Be willing to bend. If you really object to something, let your objection be duly heard and noted.
  7. DETAILS, CONTRACTS, AND NEGOTIATIONS
Make sure you get a contract specifically stating dates, times, and locations. Be sure to include what you feel is appropriate dress, and what you feel isn’t. Try to negotiate the best deal for goods and services. Also ask if there’s a grace period to cancel just in case you change your mind or something happens and you need to postpone the wedding (you never know).
  8. STAY ORGANIZED
Buy a notebook, and keep all your wedding information in it. Put info such as dates, times, locations, and duties. This will keep everyone organized as well, and minimize the chance of someone missing a fitting date or rehearsal time.

IS ACTUAL DAY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IMPORTANT?
by Kid Chan

Dear Brides/Grooms to be,

As a professional photographer I often get ask about “Is Actual Day Photography Important?”. What do you think?

Well, you have put a lot of planning and effort into your wedding to make it the beautiful affair that it is going to be. Chances are you will have to spent a lot of time, effort, expense, and anxious moments
putting it together.

If it is worth all this, along with the anticipation, isn’t it also worth preserving for your generations to come . Too often, though, all those happy events of the day and treasured opportunities go unrecorded
because an uninformed bride asked a friend who, although being an excellent photographer, was not a professional wedding photographer.

Wedding photography is a demanding art and has many factors to consider. Results are obtained through knowledge, experience and creativity. To create beautiful pictures it is necessary to be able to work quickly and promptly, knowing exactly what pictures are necessary besides the spontaneous candid, and just as important, making everybody look and feel good about themselves can be done only after years of experience.

Taking the above into consideration usually means selecting a professional Wedding Photographer. Wedding photography has been changing dramatically over the past few years. If you decide that you want professional quality photographs, take the time to visit some photographers and look at their work.

You will see different styles and different pricing structures. Certainly, don’t let price alone dictate who will be photographing your wedding. I’m sure there are many fine photographers who charge a
reasonable fee.

First find quality photographers, then consider price, if it is a factor.

The BEST wedding service providers or vendors usually charge more for their work than the average or the new. If you want to save money, there are ways to do it – but I wouldn’t advise sacrificing quality or
experience to save a couple of dollars.

It’s far better to spend a little extra now than apologize for years to come about the quality of your wedding photographs.

Whatever your decision, I sincerely hope it will be the correct decision for you and we wish you all the best in the many years to come with many, many happy memories :)
